Basically you just run the mission Scourge of Winter until you get to Draksis then shoot him until he has almost no health and run up and rocket yourself and him. He might drop an engram, and you will respawn outside of the room. Make sure you use one of the three of coins first, obviously.

'Threw 17 at him' was just a dumb way for me to say I killed him 17 times, using a three of coins before each kill.

3. It is random, but posters on Reddit are saying they average from 3-5 every 20 kills.

I think this will (and likely should) get adjusted soon. Just seems too easy to get exotics right now.

Exotics do indeed have random perk/stat rolls, so don't instantly dismantle duplicates; I got four Light Beyond Nemesis, and the third one had Intellect, Discipline, and grenade-based perks, while the others had "meh" rolls.

Also, remember that Exotics can be Infused, even across classes.

Also, The Stag and Taikonaut look awesome compared to how they looked in the preview images...

Also, Taikonaut may be the new Ruin Wings, if you favor rockets...

Lastly, The Impossible Machines are excellent. I was bummed about the other perks that I couldn't have, because Landfall is such a vital perk, but now that there's an exotic that grants it, I definitely feel that it's worth the exotic slot to be able to Blink (PvP) or Superconduct (PvE).

I'm tempted to keep buying to get a Taikonaut, but I got a Helm of Inmost Light and I've heard that it's really good on the Sunbreaker. I don't want to blow all my coin the first day, but I don't want to miss out of something good either.

I did get a Celestial Nighthawk and Obsidian Mind, so maybe I should just be content for now.

1 exotic engram is 19 SC

5 Three of Coins (ToC) costs 7 SC.

Reading here and on reddit, people are getting approx 5-6 drops from 20-28ish ToC (let's round to 24 for giggles).

1 ToC translates to 1.4 SC (7/5). So 24 ToC will cost you 33.6 SC and possibly net you 5 engrams. That comes out to 6.72 SC per engram, a savings of 35%.

Of course, there is the time costs, and that depends on what you value your time at. If you don't mind farming for 30+ minutes, then it's a bargain. If you would rather be doing something else, then just buy an engram from Xur.

The plus side to farming the ToC, is that you can get engrams for any equip slot (not just the helmet), so you can keep them, or infuse them into something else to raise your Light level.

Court of Oryx doesn't work, but any other non-raid Ultras work.

I'm just assuming raid ultras don't count, I haven't actually tried it. Draksis farm is so good that I haven't bothered with anything else.

stays active until you kill a boss. if the boss doesn't drop an engram, then you get a +1 buff that is applied when you activate another 3 of coins, and so on. Not sure if there is a max buff or not.

the Heavy Engrams are Legacy Year 1 items (with Year 1 stats). Bungie spoke of this in yesterday's update, and it tells you when you hover over the Engram that it only gives Year 1 stuff.

I would have been happy with one Warlock helm at 290. Instead I got Celestial Nighthawk, Graviton Forfeit, and Helm of Saint-14 before I ran out of coins. Now I wish I had just bought the 280 gloves… Maybe I can farm 12 more Strange Coins before he leaves on Sunday.
