I finally got to do some patrols on the Dreadnaught (joined by Winterspryt, a player I met in Mass Effect 3) and ran into two interesting, uh, things I was wondering if folks could help me understand.
Firstly, we boarded the crashed Cabal battleship and got to the part you reach in the single-player mission where you scan that instrument panel. Winterspryt said she'd run a patrol with another player where they'd found a way to open the door on the opposite side of the room; there are two consoles in that area and if two players activate them at the same time the doors open. We found both panels and gave it a shot, and the door opened; we blitzed inside to find nothing much behind it but if you go up a ramp you can get to the door to the battleship's Bridge.
Alas, neither she nor I figured out how to open that door. Plainly it leads to a playable space; you can see active AI characters (Phalanx and Psions) inside the door through nearby windows. Anyone know how to open that door? You'd think there'd be phat lewt on the Bridge of a Cabal flagship...
(By the way, if you go past that and exit the ship from the upper airlock you meet a Hive boss and minions. When we defeated them I got a new emblem; Silent Scream. I find it interesting that the Armory holds no information beyond the emblem's mere existence...)
Secondly, I have an Agonarch Rune and it's 1/7th charged, but I have no idea how to charge it fully. The description says it's charged by killing "plane shifting Hive" but, uh, what're those? Clearly I've killed one... but didn't recognise it when it happened.
-- Steve's curious about the second one because last night we found out where to use that rune. He's pretty sure he doesn't want to use it without a full fireteam, though.
edited to add: Now I'm wondering if there's a third console that needs to be tripped in order to open the door to the Bridge. Guess I know what I'm going to be doing for at least part of this afternoon & evening...

SteelGaribaldi and I couldn't figure a way into the bridge, either. ): I'm not convinced that there IS a way in. You could see enemies in that area next to the Rocketyards that finally opened up for a mission in HoW, too.

Yeah, that was pretty fun, and the emblem is pretty neat looking. I'm still using it currently.

I think it's the Taken enemies that you can make spawn on the Dreadnaught, by shooting the little rift things that hang around sometimes. After a few waves, a named Major will spawn, and killing that fills the Rune. However, the major that spawns seems to change every day, and it only counts once, so you have to wait until the next day for the next major.
-- Steve's curious about the second one because last night we found out where to use that rune. He's pretty sure he doesn't want to use it without a full fireteam, though.
I haven't found that, yet.

There's a thought. I do love the Dreadnaught. There's so much to do there, so much to figure out.

Ah, thanks. That makes sense; also makes using it a weekly (at most) event, which also makes sense.

If you've done the Darkblade strike, it's near that giant "cork" in the prison that's not held down very well by chains; the one that keeps popping up and shifting. I suspect that the console/rune opens the bottle... and I want a full team before I let that genie out. It is, after all, in prison.
-- Steve points out that it's something that scares the Hive badly enough for them to lock it away. That should be warning sign enough.

I think you can fill it faster than that. It seems like you can get multiple "hidden" taken by visiting different areas of the ship, but if you fight the taken in the same area you seem to get the same boss. That or it's random and I just kept getting the same one.

This is my experience too.

Hmm, I guess I didn't go far enough away. Mausoleum and Hull Breach both spawn the same boss.
Too be honest, I've spent probably 6 hours or so on patrol in the Dreadnaught, and I don't think I've left Mausoleum/Hull Breach/Cabal ship more than a handful of times. So far everything I've needed or wanted to do has been doable in that area.
I need to get around more!

I did finally get on the Cabal ship's bridge... in the mission "Outbound Signal". Fun little space to play in and look around, but nothing there in terms of loot or scannable stuff that I could find.
-- Steve was glad to finally make it, though.

You can get there in patrol too, and get a special emblem

There are two switches in the ship. One guy gets on one, and another guy gets on another. Yes, you will need two guys. On 3, you guys switch them on by pressing X. It opens the bridge door. Inside is "Ultra Knight," one of the creatively named enemies in TTK. Kill him, get emblem.

He knows that, it's in the original post. But once that door opens to get to Ultra Knight, the actual Bridge (which you visit in a mission) is still locked off. You can see into it, and see enemies in there, but you can't open the door.

You can actually kill a few enemies in the bridge while on patrol. there's a missing piece of glass up on top of one of the pieces of pipe. I was able to rocket and grenade a few psions and another cabal. I really want to know why there are enemies inside if we can't get there.

Dangers of clicking in the recent posts box.

I DID try to get into that area during patrol as well the other day and assumed I just got lost.

Is it Craig Mullinesque because it has a Marathon-like logo?
I mean I love me some Craig Mullins and he's been a big influence on the look of Bungie's games, but I'm just wondering.
Cool screenshot regardless. By the way, Microsoft doesn't give you good link to the image. It doesn't work with the forum's image tag (for me, anyway) and even if you fish it out, it forces your browser to download rather than display the image.

It's because you're logged in, and have seen the image. Those of us who are not can see neither. Xboxlive.com is a terrible place to link from. :(

Weird; I saved a half-scale copy to my Photobucket account and thought I was linking to that instead of the screenshots page... dunno how that happened. Oops.
-- Steve's clearly played too much Destiny over the weekend; he tried to write it as "Phogothbucket".
PS: boy, I really don't want to consider that typo for very long. (Who has to empty that bucket?...)
