*Spoilers* helpfull tip #2 (Destiny)
The plates you stand on have a little manhole cover with a symbol on it. You need to stand off the whole plate, not just the smaller plate, when doing this puzzle. If done right, after each person steps on it there will be a thwump noise only once, not a continuous sound. Lost a half hour last night because someone couldn't see they were still on the big plate and were messing up the order.
