My experience was slightly different. I used an early Oculus my friend had to play Half-Life 2. Normal PC controls but my head moved around and the mouse did the gun. I thought it worked fine. I agree with the other stuff you said though.

The Vive demo I did for being an HTC Elevate member on the other hand was like future bullshit. Like I FELT IN THE FUTURE. Totally different experience from the Oculus.
