We finished the 2nd encounter *SPOILERS* *TLDR Warning*

man, was that a lot of work, but it was fun. Disciple Streamed it, so hopefully he can put together a vid of our successful run.

We followed a modified version of the youtube clip i posted yesterday.

A few things we learned/did differently:

Rage warning is at 9 mins, Rage is at 10 mins

don't hang back and wait on the adds. Push forward to get them all as quick as possible (keep a pillar between you and golgoroth.

Work the Orbs from back to front, alternating sides

To start the first orb, have 5 people go to one side, and have them shoot at the orb opposite of them (the side with 1 person). The ogre tends to shoot at the side with the most people. This makes it easier to control which orb gets broken, so the proper person can take the gaze.

The 6th person needs to hide until the first orb is almost broken.

As the orb is breaking, come out of cover and get Golgoroth's rage. Then 4 people jump down into the puddle of light. The 5th person stays opposite of the sixth person. These two people trade the gaze off, slowly moving to the front of the room.

During his gaze, if you stand in the open with an auto rifle, the "shrieker" blobs he shoots will travel in an almost straight line, and you can easily pop them before they get to you.

When you don't have his gaze, you unload a heavy machine gun into the next orb, so it is ready for the team doing damage to him. This took an entire mag of heavy machine gun (Diluvian 10/4x with 76 rds) to do. By the time i had broken the orb, it was time to switch the gaze, so i would reload later.

AOE grenades are of great help for the DPS team. Whenever i had a chance, i would throw a grenade between the team and cursed thrall to slow them down.

If one of the 2 gaze people dies, that really mucks it up, b/c someone has to come out of the pit to keep the rotation going, being a sunsinger really helps here for the self-revive. If someone in the pit dies, it's not as critical, b/c the Ogre is ignoring them, and they can be picked up easily when their timer is up.

Once the taken show up, they continuously spawn, so watch the ceiling for a new set of orbs, and just go back to your regular routine. if you focus on the Taken, you will run out of time.

When at the last (6th) orb, do not take his gaze back, you will delay the spawn of adds by 20 seconds, and you need all the time you can get. Make sure to call out the time, and when you get to 5-7 seconds, yell "get out, get out..." b/c someone will probably forget its the last one, and will get stomped.

TLDR

So, as a gazer/orb breaker, my role went like this:

  • Start encounter
  • Clear adds, grab ammo
  • Wait for the other five to break first orb
  • grab gaze as soon as orb breaks
  • use auto rifle to shoot purple blobs
  • call out the time "10...9...8...7...6..."
  • after the gaze trade off, shoot the next orb with heavy machine gun
  • at 5 secs, take the gaze back
  • use auto rifle to shoot blobs
  • call out the time "10...9...8...7...6..."
  • after the gaze trade off, finally reload my heavy and shoot the next orb with heavy machine gun
  • Throw grenades when available to help the DPS team
  • Rinse
  • Repeat

Oops. I uploaded this a while ago, but forgot about it.

This was a fun run. I look forward to finishing this thing on Friday!
