ProbablyLast got weaseled, I had to go school anyway. It was hard as hell. We tried one and a half times, failed pretty hardcore through the attempts. The whole thing is very very difficult.

I just attempted this on the select mission from the moon, set to heroic and it works! I believe the only caveat is that you must not have died before getting there. Me and a friend attempted on the daily heroic, didnt die getting there, but failed to kill in time. I tried again on the daily heroic, died to the ogre once or twice, and it was closed when i got to entrance to the Ketch.

Either that or you get one attempt per day and the fact that its the daily heroic means you can try twice.

EDIT: Some people are saying they died before the Ketch, and still had the door open, so it must be some sort of hidden timer, unsure as to the exact time.

Loading up the "heroic" tier difficulty of the daily mission from the director has always counted as running the daily heroic mission (reward-wise) - so I don't think we can actually test whether this works from the heroic tier of this mission on any given day until tomorrow.

Doesn't the Daily Heroic mission typically include modifiers that make it more challenging than simply selecting mission in the director and choosing the "heroic" difficulty setting?

Heard the gun is a 310 light drop, 300 light if you rebuy from the plans once you get it. You apparently have to do the daily heroic and take the route to the ketch and taniks (the stike boss) instead of going the normal mission route. You have to complete the strike in a 10 minute time limit.

I've never seen this story mission in regular mode but I have not gone through many of the taken war quests so I think this is normally part of one of those.

I'm pretty sure that on that particular day that it happens to be the featured daily mission, loading the mission from the director, set to it's highest difficulty, actually just launches the daily heroic with modifiers and all. I guess I could be wrong about that, but I remember noticing in the past that they were treated the same for the day.

Go into the heroic version of the Lost to Light. After the section where you use two runes to open the door, head to Tanik's Ketch. Once you get aboard the Ketch you have 10 minutes to kill all the taken adds and a boss.

Some notes/tips:
- There seems to be some sort of timer to get to the Ketch so you want to probably skip as much fighting as possible before that
- Apparently adds spawn infinitely during the boss fight until you kill the boss
- Don't wipe until after you get to the Ketch
- After reaching the Ketch, the darkness zone will clear and you can revive as needed
- Taken Knights have fire shields
- Don't let the taken psions kill overwhelm you.
- You can try this repeatedly

It's part or the normal campaign quest line. Spoiler only if you haven't played TTK's main storyline: It's the one where you go back into where you destroyed Crota's soul shard in The Dark Below, and now you're grabbing a piece of that shard and then high-tailing it out of the Hellmouth. (The next mission is then Crota's "funeral")

Just make sure to take a right toward where the Taniks strike happens instead of continuing on through the mission to get out of the Hellmouth

Sammy and I will definitely be up for running this. I think she's only a 292, but she was able to tackle Crota Lite in the Court as a 275, so we should be good. Just need a third now around 6(EST).

I tried with a few friends but couldn't get the boss down to more then a third. Well, I guess I'll have to keep an eye out for next time.

Also, Deej tweeted that it's gonna be nerfed down to 290 light, but that they won't be changing light levels of weapons you infuse from it.
