There's a Cylon in today's Daily Story Mission... (Destiny)

During the mission, we get to hear Toland speak, and according to IMDB, Toland is voiced by Michael Hogan aka Saul Tigh from BSG. Hopefully, this means we will be hearing more from Toland in the future, as it would be a shame to get such a well known voice actor for just a few lines...

That's a pretty big BSG spoiler there, considering he's one of the final five.

True. And I'm actually quite OCD about avoiding spoilers at all cost. But it brings up an interesting question. At what point does it become okay to stop worrying about spoilers for past shows, movies, games etc.? I mean Battlestar went off the air 6 years ago. Is there a socially defined statue of limitations on that stuff?

That's the problem, it's different for every person. Some people literally say it's never okay to talk about Darth Vader being Luke's father and some people say it's okay to talk about spoilers for new movies a month after they've been out.

You say that, but I imagine there are people out there who have never seen it watching it in Episode order. 1,2,3,4,5,6.

Well, I went through the series 3 years ago. It is much easier to discover stuff now. I just now finished Twin Peaks. I would have enjoyed it way more had I not been spoiled about a lot of it. And that aired over 20 years ago.

Thinking about it a little more I think the general rule that 90%+ of people could agree to is: just try to not intentionally spoil anything, basically, don't be a dick (to quote Wil Wheaton). Usually if someone starts talking about a show I haven't seen I ask them to stop talking about it politely, or if for some reason I can't, I stop listening. Many shows have been spoiled in my presence, but I tuned it out. I think that's always the issue with the world right now, no one wants to take responsibility on either side. "I should be able to say whatever I want" as well as "I should be protected without any effort on my own" are both prevailing philosophies online.

TL;DR: I think the reasonable middle ground is don't be a dick, and just tune it out as best you can otherwise.

Saul hated Cylons so much that it was so obvious that he'd end up as the most self-hating Cylon ever.
