One day... (Destiny)
You know it's not the same. My music CD should last forever (assuming it doesn't wipe out). It's not a perishable good. Was never intended to be. Any other software I buy, unless it is licensed is something I own for the rest of my life, as it's a piece of software. Again if the perishable item breaks then I am out of luck, but if they stop allowing me to use something I own that I am not paying a subscription style fee, then I should be saying WTF mate.
I personally hate the idea, incase that wasn't clear :)
