Deceptive Engram had Year 1 stuff. Xur is selling Year 2. I'll definitely be buying that LBN.

Deceptive Engram was a layered joke. Deceptive because it's a green engram that spits out exotics, and deceptive because the exotics it spits out quickly become rubbish next to actual year-two green drops.

The inventory was simply being cleared of obsolete goods, and the cryptarchs let the guardians handle the disposal process rather than doing it themselves.
