Why do you need 310 light again? (Destiny)

Is there some secret activity I'm unaware of that requires more than 290 light?

Here's all I can think of:

- Hardmode Raid. First, you should be required to do normal mode raid for this. Second, hardmode will likely have 320 gear, making you even more upset about nightfalls. Third, nightfall never (ever) gave us gear that was as good as raid gear.

- Iron Banner and Trials. While I dislike Bungie's approach that PvE raid gear should be the best gear for PvP events, it is consistent with their history and should in no way surprise you. Although now that I think about it, we have absolutely no idea if Iron Banner and Trials still work the same as in 1.0. We don't know what light level the reward gear from them will be. So I urge patience and restraint until we do.

... And that's it. There are not even light 300 missions as far as I'm aware, let alone light 310. Pretty sure you can relax, as light 290 is enough for everything currently available in the game.

I mean, you're right for now and I'm not stressing too hard. I'm not in a rush nor do I actually think I can hit it yet. It's just that in a game based on progression it would be nice to have the progression happen steadily, as it did up until this point. Maybe it is just the nightfall being redefined as no longer being an endgame activity, but that was not really stated or hinted at. The rewards are simply low tier.

I mean, if you don't count the 3 of coins, Nightfall is still one of the only ways to get most of the exotics.
