You guys figured out that:

You don't need to be at the top left to hide behind the left pillar. You can hide on a ledge at the bottom left of the middle. The three times I've done it we just made everyone jump up to the left, not a particular easy jump to make in a pressure situation.

Heh - we figured that out, too - and it was critical on the last round of damage. (I was the only one left alive, and I was STARTING to try and make the jump when North reminded me that the ledge was safe. I would have missed the jump, we would have wiped. Instead, I stayed alive, revived the rest of the team, and we finished him before enrage.)
