I've been meaning to ask this since the GIGA-Update post year two. When the update occurred I had a Elder Cipher. As such I can redeem it for one of the three exotics. I am already aware of the sidearms lackluster exotic-ness.

Which one would you recommend? As far I can tell there is no year two versions of any of these exotics yet.

Lord of Wolves or Queenbreakers bow?

Better late then never.

I enjoyed the QueenBreaker's Bow the most. Its really fun to use in the crucible once you get the hang of it. As strange as it sounds, I got more/better kills using the Bow in crucible, than a sniper that has instant damage (theres travel time on the Bow). Some people say thats stupid, but I think its because of the scope, which is really clean and Open. Also being able to charge it up, you have time to line up your shot, or cancel if its going to be a miss.

I am actually more inclined to sniper rifles in general, not usually a big fan of shotguns. But after using all three, I would recommend Lord of Wolves.

But I'm not much of a PvP sniper, which is where Queenbreaker's Bow shines. Even so, I find Lord of Wolves to be a great gun for PvP or PvE.

I have a question regarding legacy exotics:

Can you get year two versions of these weapons in PoE from the chest?

Can you get year two versions from Vault of Glass or Crota's End?

Are there Year 2 version of any of those weapons? I legitimately don't know.

But if there are, I suspect you cannot obtain them from those activies, because those are all activities that Guardians that don't have TTK can still participate in. I don't see it dropping rewards they won't be able to use, as they would have to hit Level 40 to equip them, which they can't do without TTK.

^ This. Y1 activities only drop Y1 exotics (VoG, PoE, CE)
