If this has been covered, then forgive me (and refer me to the link!). As you know, I'm a slow consumer of new content.

Just found out you can patrol The Founts (I'm always so focused on the Cabal ship or that stupid Scent chest that I can never get. Curse my platforming abilities!). There is this... thing... like a cauldron on chains. I think it's right before the stairs where the three yellow bar Knights hang out. So, this thing (we'll call it a cauldron) moves regularly. At least it did after we killed the yellow bars. It was probably moving before, and I just didn't notice because I was getting killed.

Does it DO anything? Activate anything? Cause anything to happen? I find it hard to believe that it's purely cosmetic (like, say, an emote), but it could be I'm just really hoping to find new secrets.

Side note: does killing the three yellow bars activate/trigger anything?

Killing the three Warden's Knights within 10 seconds of each other opens the door behind them as part of the Exotic Sword quest. I'm not sure if it will open if you don't have the quest.

Yeah, it is always moving. No, it doesn't do anything that I'm aware of.

Side note: does killing the three yellow bars activate/trigger anything?

Yes, if you do it within certain parameters. If you kill them all within a few (ten?) seconds of each other, the big door opens.

Yeah, me too! There's always the possibility that there is something there that folks haven't discovered yet, but I doubt it.

I thought a charged Agonarch rune would open the bottle (as the console for that rune is nearby) but alas that turned out not to be the case.

-- Steve thinks this is too big a Chekhov's Gun to sit unfired on the mantelpiece, though. Maybe future content will pop the cork?

I always viewed it as a grinder, not a cork. Something that is being lifted, turned, and dropped again to crush whatever lies beneath into dust.
