Three of Coins (Destiny)
Am I just in a RNG slump or has the drop rate with the Three of Coins really dropped off? I know that before the nerf, I got a really good rate of one exotic every 4.2 coins. Yes, that was doing the farming. I played for 5 hours yesterday and popped 20 coins while playing strikes. I got one exotic.
I also feel shorted on legendary engram drops as well. I only saw 3 drop from bosses and enemies. I did have some blues turn into purples. Am I being punished for past farming or just unlucky?

It could be there just aren't many droppable Exotics left for you to find; a possible downside of the new context-senstive drop system.
-- Steve's had a few repeats, but not many... and he's seen a notable decline in Exotic drops as his collection expanded.
I've been getting around 1 in 10 (based purely on judgement, I haven't been keeping track), which is less than than the 1 in 4 or so I got during farming on that first weekend, but still not bad, I don't think.
I just realized this morning that Three of Coins works on the Taken Zealots that spawn in patrol, though.
Thing 3 of Coins works on (incomplete list)
- Taken Zealots from patrol mode.
- Draksis, boss of the "Scourge of Winter" mission.
- Raid bosses.
- Strike end bosses.
- level 3 Court of Oryx bosses.
- The Gate Lord, boss of the "Eye of the Gate Lord" mission.
Post others here! Basically if I'm doing anything other than PvP, I pop a 3 of coins when it starts because damn if it isn't common to just run into a dude who counts.

If it's twice as big as a normal enemy, it works. Sardok, for example.

They are technically Ultras I think, but I've never tried.
I've also heard that it doesn't work with the Psions from the Dust Palace strike. Can't confirm as I forgot to check last time I ran it.
How about Eyes of Crota?
I can confirm that it does not work on the psions. Though I did get a sweet cloak.
Soul of Crota does not count.

Apparently it works on the Echoes of Oryx as well. At least in the Raid! Not sure about others.
Fun to get an exotic from the echo during the oryx fight!
