Weapon values at 330 in the armory? (Destiny)
by TheeChaos , Monday, October 19, 2015, 14:02 (3419 days ago)
I scoured the internet and found a few articles without any evidence. Apparently some exotics are up to 330 now. Zhalo Supercell for expample. Am I late to the party, or did this go unmentioned.

I suspect they simply increased the maximum light level the the weapon could drop internally. You won't see that until the next expansion likely.

It could also be in preparation for the Hard Raid.

That'd be my guess

I wonder if breaking light level 310 on your character will unlock the possibility of exotics decrypting at 320-330.

Kind of stupid if you ask me.
So you can get a great exotic you really want to use, but oh no it's 290. Now you have to infuse it a minimum of three times to get it to 330. You might say that there's not much difference between 290 and 330. If that's the case, why bother with upgrades at all if they don't matter?
Either it doesn't matter in which case it should go away, or it does matter and getting guns and armor you can actually use is way harder than it used to be.
This is becoming a mess very quickly and not making me any more excited about the game. If Bungie insists on this type of upgrade system, we need to simplify:
Anything you buy is 280 always.
Anything you get as a drop in normal activities is 290 always.
Anything in the raid / nightfall / Iron banner is 310 always.
Anything in the Hard Raid and Trials is 330 always.
Quests can be variable.
Your light level should matter zilch when it comes to drop and decode values.
Infusion grants you 100% of the item's value
Way better, much less frustrating, and still offers that steady stream of improvement. The last item being the most important. I hope Bungie borrows yet another one of my ideas here.

I don't think raid gear should just come at 310. I would already be close to 310 on all my characters if there were the case. Which sounds awesome, but what there goes the thrill of getting gear. Nightfalls I can definitely agree with, as you only get 1 peice of gear (or some coins) on each character. It may not be a good roll, so having them high makes them viable. Iron banana should be at least 300 on drops, with the ones you can buy being 310. This allows PVPers to progress without raiding. Then make the Trials gear 310-330 or whatever.
I dont like the idea of getting rid of the light level related decoding. It is definitely noticeable. Going through all of my characters, at the lower levels you can definitely see that this system makes a huge difference. This leaves us with 2 options, RNG (we all know how you love that) and having the gear always be higher. If the gear always dropped higher, we would all be max level without anything to work towards, a month after release. If it were RNG, we would all be bitching about how we can't get anywhere without raiding or crossing out fingers. This system is a needed with the new light system they have IMO.

Blues would have variability based on the activity you are playing not your light level. Higher level activities drop better blues. Legendaries and exotics would work how I described. Give every activity three different light levels to choose from. Problem solved.

I think IB gear that is for sale should be 300, with the drops having a chance to be higher. If you are going to make the purchasable gear 310, then it needs to have more cost (not necessarily marks, maybe glimmer). With the 2nd/3rd character buffs, people will buy the max items to infuse into other gear.
Personally, i would love to be able to buy 310 gear for infusion, but i doubt Bungie would want us to do that (at least right now). As the light cap goes up, I'd bet that the IB gear levels will go up as well.
I do believe that we need better than 280 gear for all the work that goes into IB. I bought the pulse rifle, and got the sidearm from a drop (283).

those are good options. Point being, there are definitely better options, but not just throwing out max level gear at everyone.
