Tonight's PS4 raiders (Destiny)

I'd like to try hard mode. I've been poking around a little and I think we can do it up to oryx. It sounds like the oryx fight will be difficult, and I won't feel bad if we don't finish that tonight. it sounds like other than a wrinkle at golgoroth, we should be able to do pretty much what we've done before.

At the very least we should be able to get to the first boss fight, and get 2 chests before then. If the warpriest is incredibly difficult we could jump back in on normal mode after the first 45 mins or so.

Thoughts?

I'd like to try Hard Mode. What's the worst that can happen, we wipe & give up?

That's what I'm thinking. I think we will get at least 1-2 ghosts or fusion rifles to drop by the time we are at the warpriest, hopefully > 310.

I'm also fine just running it in normal if people aren't up to 300 light.

I'm not a total slouch, but have not run TTK raid yet. Im under level/light and have pretty garbage gear. I will probably drag us down...
I'm willing to sit out and try to get into the Thursday event if need be.

I think you'll be able to handle hard mode up to Oryx fine. I did the Warpriest with a group here that had a few people without a good sniper, and we managed with adjustments to strategy.

Eh. I'm under geared and I'm still not 100% I've fully "gotten" the hang of normal just yet in so little runs.

Says Luke Smith:
In Hard mode, all of the boss fights have a new mechanic, a new element.  There's also Challenge mode -- a particular way of killing a raid boss that gets you a special emblem and a reward.  Mathematically, you've only seen or completed five-thirteenths of the raid.

What'll ya bet it's taking Golgoroth down in one round with all 6 globes? Possibly just never "losing his gaze"; which is possible if the gaze taker goes invisible, the text then says "Golgoroth's Gaze Vanishes" instead of "Golgoroth's Gaze is lost."

Tonight's PS4 raiders - Baked Golgoroth Recipe

Hey, if you all are up for it I'd like to try a slightly modified Golgoroth strategy. I call it the "2 globe method"... yeah.

Roles (ingredients):
Gaze Taker A - 1 guardian
Gaze Taker B - 1 guardian (bubble titan)
Add Control - 1 stormcaller
DPS Team - 3 guardians

Directions:
1- DPS team, Add Control, & Gaze Taker B drop the 1st globe with their primaries.
2- Bubble Titan drops a WoL bubble (with the perk that makes bubbles last for 45 seconds) in the front center so it can be run through on the way to the 2nd pool.
3- DPS Team, Add Control, & Gaze Taker B run through the WoL bubble
4a- Someone from DPS Team or Add Control debuff Golgoroth w/ a Melting Point melee or a Nightstalker Tether.
4b- Gaze Taker B takes down 2nd globe with their Heavy Weapon
5- DPS Team & Add Control snipe Golgoroth in the belly.
6- Someone re-debuffs Golgoroth
7- Gaze Taker B takes the gaze.
8- Add Control kills the adds (resumes DPSing Golgoroth if able)
9- Gaze Taker A, & DPS Team pass through the WoL bubble while moving to the other globe.
10- Gaze Taker A, & DPS Team snipe Golgoroth in the belly.
11- Someone re-debuffs Golgoroth.
12- Gaze Taker B calls time & everyone jumps out.
13- Refill sniper ammo and supers by killing adds
13- Rinse, Repeat, & Profit!

What do you guys think? It's essentially the multi-globe method only we keep Golgoroth debuffed the entire time that he's being DPSed & Gaze Taker A gets to join in on the DPSing.

SGA: We tried this, it's close to the 1-gaze method.
