I'm not too shabby a Crucible player. Positive K/D, frequently at the top, or near the top, of the postgame summary. I excel at Control, though have rounded out my game recently in the other game types. I'm alright.

However, I'm really struggling with this head shot precision spree for The First Curse (and after watching Mr. Fruit's video of the gun, not sure I care. Feeling kind of meh). But man, seven headshot kills in a game is a lot for a gun with only 6 rounds.

Any tips?

Anything to get your foe's health really low before you have to use that hand cannon should help you tons.

According to the guide I read earlier, that's the case for the Cruicble part of the quest.

The killing spree requires you to get 7 kills quickly. Should be doable on The Dark Below or siege of the war mind using the crappy gun's triple tap.

Killing spree I got already, i'm just down to the Crucible part. Here's the thing, I have yet to get the Triple Tap to proc, even in PvE and what I swear were three head shots on thrall (they all exploded).

I'm the first to admit, I don't seem to have the magically coordinated thumbs some of these people on the interwebs (and including here on DBO) seem to have. I watched a video once where the guy said something along the lines of "Make sure aim for the head and not the neck" and I was like "Eff that! How the heck do you have the dexterity to make sure you hit the head and not the neck?!" So, yeah.

I'm a body shot killer. Don't get me wrong, I aim for the head as best I can, but it's a tiny target. And once the shield is down, I'm just trying to end the fight (and take cover cause I'm a wounded gazelle on the Serengeti generally speaking) . Making sure I line up for the head has gotten me killed a few times when my opponent was a half bullet from death. I honestly don't know if I'm coordinated enough with a hand cannon to do this. Sniping, sure, no problem. If it were just headshots in a match with any gun, I'd be fine. But this will be tough; don't know I could get it any way but cheesing it in Rumble.

I actually thought about running a sidearm ( I never do). Figured it would force me to stay in the correct range for the gun. The damn problem is its got so much recoil that anything outside of say 20m it gets out classed. Yet, it's an ADS hand cannon. I'll give the sidearm a try tomorrow and see if that helps.

Take 2 buddies with you into rumble and have them run up and let you headshot them. Goes quickly. After getting 6 headshot kills 3 times in other pvp modes, I gave in and cheesed. The reward isn't good enough for me to want to feel like I really earned it.

You just have to get 7 headshot kills during a game. It doesn't have to be a spree or on the same mag like the PvE part.

I went into clash and just followed teammates around. When they engaged somebody, I ran up and shot them in the head. As long as you hang back a little and let the opponents get focused on your teammate, you shouldn't have much trouble. Just steal your teammates' kills. Don't try to kill anybody on your own. You can't win a 1v1 fight with that crappy gun.

So, I got lucky and did 7 headshots in one match.

I went into the rumble playlist. Match begins and I started killing people (and getting killed). I got 2 headshots then ran into a guy who was also using the white gun (I forget the name now). I ran up to him twice and let him headshot me. Suddenly everything changed.

Turns out he was in a fireteam of 3 that were all there helping him and maybe 1 other guy get headshots. They let me get my 7 and we emoted our thanks and joy. Then it got a little weird. It became a 4 vs 2 rumble match -- I got adopted onto their fireteam and they stopped killing me, and I stopped killing them. I'm sure it was a pretty weird match for the other 2 guys that were in there with us.

At the end all 4 of us were running around hunting the other 2 guys. Kind of fun and funny, and makes me happy that destiny is the kind of game where it encourages coop even in a gamemode where it's everyone vs everyone.

Don't try to kill anybody on your own. You can't win a 1v1 fight with that crappy gun.

Let me clarify: You can't win against anyone halfway competent. I won a few fights, but it was obvious those people were just not very good. If they're landing shots on you, you won't win.

Playing Clash on Blind Watch. I'm running my No-Intellect Nightstalker (Never thought I'd do that, but having grenades and smoke for days is the way to play that character). I set up in the hallway adjacent to B across from where you can drop down from the roof. I just cover the far wall with smoke and whenever someone jumps down, I have them trapped in smoke and easy targets.

Hadn't even come close the rest of the night. I tried running sidearm, and I will say I may consider it more often, but I miss my sniper rifle a lot.

Got it done last night, completely non-legitimately. Nico let me kill him. A lot, because it turns out that even when I'm friggin' STANDING RIGHT NEXT TO HIM, AND HE'S NOT MOVING, I had trouble getting headshots with that piece of shit gun.

That was some terrible stuff right there. I don't often do things in Destiny that aren't fun (because I want what's coming next)... but that's on the list.

I don't blame you or anyone. That was a shit gun. I spent more time aiming only for the head than I ever have with that gun and there were a number of times I would swear on my life I hit them in the head and it wouldn't give me the headshot kill. When I did complete it, I honestly thought I had gotten a couple more headshot kills in there before the quest achievement triggered.

Really? I could see reporting if that were happening over and over. We were literally running as a group of 4 of us for maybe 30 seconds to a minute at the very end of a match. An entire match I can see, but that seems excessive.
