What is your favorite vendor bought weapon? (Destiny)

Besides the Hung Jury.

I have 200 marks that I haven't spend in ages but I don't know what to get...

Other than Hung Jury, my favorite so far is the Apple of Discourd from the vanguard quartermaster. It has a great roll for PvP.

The Hadn Laid Stock make it go straight up. Very nice to deal with then.

I have an apple, but I forget what the stats are on it.. I'll see if it's any better.

1000 Yard Stare at the Vanguard vendor has a good roll.

If you're into hand cannons, Byronic Hero is a good PvP gun. It has a really nice vertical recoil, so it makes followup shots quick and easy. Plus third eye is nice. I've had a lot of luck with it.

I'm God awful with Hand Cannons. I want to be good with snipers but I need a newbie friendly sniper rifle

It's not exactly a vendor-bought weapon, but the Stillpiercer sniper rifle you can get from Banshee as a hunter works very well for me, and I don't think I'm good at PvP sniping at all. Of course, that one can only be equipped on hunters so if you play something else primarily, disregard.

The hunter is the only class I haven't started yet... I've been wanted to though

Buy a Ghost Shell that gives mats on engram pickup

by Kahzgul, Tuesday, November 03, 2015, 16:12 (3547 days ago) @ MacAddictXIV

You'll have to inspect the vendor ghost shells, but get one which gives you crafting materials when you pick up an engram for each planet and then swap to them as you play in order to easily maximize crafting material gains. I also like having one for each species of enemy, as well as one for the crucible.

That's a great idea, I never thought of doing that...

Swords are nice but since my Defender uses Invective for close range work (Max strength all Force Barrier all the time FTW!) I can't really justify a second close range weapon in my Heavy slot. My upcoming solution: The Smolder from the Crucible quartermaster. It's a quick firing quick reloading rocket launcher that has Tripod (three rockets!) and Grenades and Horseshoes. Perhaps it's not as suitable as a raid / anti-Oryx weapon but it will be good in the Crucible and good for hitting groups of enemies with reduced out of cover risk in high level Strikes.

Year 2 Invective

...does that count as "vendor"?

You can "vendor" Y2 exotics that you have Y1 versions of. If you've got some favorites, this is a good route to go.

Wait... what? I thought you had to find the Y2 version to use it... Please explain. Also, I already have Y2 Invective.

If you had a Y1 version of an Exotic, then you can purchase the Y2 version from the kiosk for ~150 Marks. The cost might change depending on the type of weapon.

Why has no one told me this? Or better put, why haven't people told me to stop ignoring you people who have been telling me this?

Then get a Ruin Wake from the crucible vendor or Objection IV from new monarchy. I'm not sure if their rolls are good, but they are both nice high impact machine guns.

I'd have to say the Villany or Hawksaw are both good PR's.

I'd try the Tao Hua Yuan crucible sniper. It has crap impact, but you can almost max out stability and it has hidden hand for better target acquisition. This may be a good starter sniper. Matter of fact, I think I'll pick one up tonight. Thanks for reminding me.

The Villiany FWC PR

It's nearly identical to the vendor Nerwin's Mercy IB PR except with a little more range and slightly less stability. It's a pretty great pulse rifle for crucible.
