I was like: Let's see. He's got the tripmine. Odds are he'll kill himself.

But no... It was much worse...

Gotta remember to plug that charger in! Especially before something important, like trials. You get a reminder about an hour before the battery dies, how did he miss it?

I think that is the problem. This happens to me alot, not during as important moments as this one, but it does happen. The problem with the really early reminder, is that there are no more after that. So you get the one, then get involved in the game, and completely forget. At least I do. It needs more incremental battery reminders. My headset on the other hand, goes from no indicator, to never ending beeping about 2 mins before it dies.

All in all, I hope this never happens to me. I thought for sure he was going to get weaseled.

yes.

When running Eneloop batteries, it seems like i get another 15-20 mins after the battery indicator pops up. I'm guessing here, but usually with less than 5 mins left, the rumble goes off, and it is jarring (esp if you are using an auto rifle and all of a sudden the rumble stops).

On a side note, I've noticed that at the daughters/Oryx, my rumble will intermittently go out, and come back after a reload, even with full batt. It only happens at the daughters/Oryx. I've noticed it with Monte Carlo, The raid pistol, and Zhalo.

Yep, Losing the ability to make your hands tingle really does suck, but on the plus side the controller gets to, you know, control things longer.

It is absolutely superior. If you forget after the first warning (which I often ignore), it's a great reminder that is instantly felt. Having backups are always great design. Also Mac mentioned it allows you to use the controller even longer by reducing the load on the batteries. :)

My problem seems to be that I sometimes sit far enough away that the controller loses contact with the xbox. If I sit just right with my feet propped up it disconnects.

The way the Xbox's USB port sits on the left of the console, and I have the console to my left, the charge cable has occasionally touched the power button, which has turned the whole thing off.

And the thing is that where I had the console before to prevent this, Ellie would come up to it and boop the light with her nose, turning it off.

I moved the console to the right side of my desk, and ended up hitting the power button with my elbow...

I can't win.

Unfortunately, that's when I learned that there is a very real difference in Forza 4 between the two, and my brain and hands had become adjusted to the lower-latency wired controller. As a result, driving wireless now felt like the track was coated with butter. I've stuck with wired ever since.

Yeah that was a complaint from the 360 days. That was something they specifically addressed with XB1 and I haven't heard of people noticing a difference in latency with XB1 controllers wired or wireless. (If your experience is different let me know)

I have Eneloops, so I've never even plugged my controller into my Xbox One.

I understand the principle of what you're saying; they actually send signals through the wire when plugged in, whereas the 360 still functioned wirelessly when plugged in.

Is there a reason that matters?

I just have never experienced any issues like that. Or latency issues, as Vortech point out. I have never had any issues there, either.

I mean, I think it's great functionality and it's great for folks that prefer wired. I've just never personally had issues or felt like wired would be beneficial.

No, it's true. There's much less of a difference on XB1. I could probably switch without much issue, but right now I'm not having to deal with batteries at all (either swapping or charging) and that's kind of nice.
