So if you are 300 and up light you have a much better chance at getting 310 engrams right?

I believe that is an accurate statement, then above 310 an even greater chance. I pretty much plan into trials with 310 helmets on all characters.

Not really. They basically just allow you to jump over some people, activate your super with the Landfall perk, which sends a mini Fist of havoc effect below you.

Sunbreakers just increased the duration of your solar grenades.

I thought Landfall would be great, but it's mostly for presentation. If you're not directly over your target, they won't even feel a tingle.

FWIW, you don't have to actually be in the air. You can just run up next to something and activate your super. I use it all the time.

Use it on that Sunbreaker right around the corner that thinks he's invincible.

I like how he didn't die while standing directly underneath the Landfall effect and had to be finished-off with more Super. If he was paying attention in the slightest you would have been toast.

Yeah, they're just so hard to kill... Fortunately, while it wont outright kill them, it will still blind them.
