Controller mapping new with the XB1 update. (Destiny)
Now you can customize your controller through the options menu. I'm really good with my Bumper Jumper setup though, no need to change anything.

is it global, or can you do game-specific?

Xenos was right.

Looks like you can use the Elite controller with both platforms. It's the best controller I've ever held, and I don't think I'll miss the track pad very much.

Looks global.

That is really tricky! What an elegant solution!
no amount of customization will help me not suck

Still a lot of scratch. Winter/Santa is coming, though.

Let me know how it works
Also, let me know if you get banned. I'd love to be able to use the Xbox controller on my PS4, but the fact that the device allows keyboard/mouse and/or macros makes it kind of sketchy. :)

Is it a temp ban? cause that's worth it.

Just realized that you can map some extra button scripts to the Elite, which would make playing something like Warframe on the Xbox fun, since the Xbone controller's limitations had a strong negative impact on the game (enough for me to write off playing it on the Xbone)... Not worth $150, but I can definitely see how one could survive quite a number of games without the touchpad.

+10
For me, not you. Okay, maybe both of us.

It might be a while before I can gather all the pieces.
One of the things I really like about the elite controller is the taller thumbsticks you can add. Long ago I had an extender on my aim stick and it actually helped! Unfortunately, it wasn't very durable and eventually damaged the thumbsticks.
Also, the elite controller strikes me as quite durable. The rubber on the sticks will wear eventually, but I'm hoping that replacement parts will be available.

I had some "Legendary" stick extenders on my 360 controller. I'm not sure how much they helped my precision in reality, but it sure felt like it was easier to be precise and maintain turn speed.

Me too!
-- some brain dead AOLer.

Me too!
I use to be really good at halo multiplayer and did better than most people. Then Destiny happened and I started sucking. Maybe it's Destiny or maybe I'm just getting old and I'm past my prime.

I've always wanted full controller customization...now that I have it only one thought comes to mind: "What the hell am I going to do with it?"
