Fixing the one orb merhod (Destiny)

I've had discussions with some people about the one orb method for Golgoroth, and while nobody will say it's a straight up cheese, most people I think feel it isn't quite in the spirit of the fight. I have no idea how Bungie feels, but if they ever feel like changing it, which they have done before in raids, I'd suggest the following:

Each successive orb gives a larger boost to damage. The first orb would provide a small boost, the last a massive. This way, you have a risk / reward with going for more orbs in a single round. A single orb each time should be insufficient to kill before the enrage, with the requirement being somewhere between two and three each time.

Cool?

that's a good idea, here a few that i had:

light up a glyph on the tablet or ruin each time you fail to take his gaze.

or increase the length of the gaze with each successive orb broken. lose his gaze, then the buff starts over. that would have the same net effect of buffing the damage, but would require more ammo, so there's a trade off.

That seems really punishing. I like my idea because it gives you room to recover after a mess up. Only get one orb in? No sweat: aim for 4 or 5 in the next round. I feel like because the mechanics of King's fall are so tight, that often failure requires a wipe and cannot be recovered from on Hard Mode.

The problem *I* run into with multiple globes is running out of secondary ammo after the 2nd globe. I think it multiple globes would benefit from there being adds in the pit between phases so that there would be ammo laying around down there when you jump in / move to another pool. The explody thrall don't drop enough ammo.

I'm still baffled as to why the 2 globe method* didn't drop Golgoroth much faster than the 1 globe method.

*2 globe method being where the first gaze taker jumps into the pit to DPS after the gaze is taken from him.

you make it through the 2nd orb without running out? I easily use 60-90% of my secondary ammo on the first orb. Increasing the add count would provide more ammo, but not consistent secondary, and as a game mechanic I find the idea of running around at the bosses feet to grab bullets to be on the more ridiculous side of things that need to be done to complete a raid.

Sometime during the 2nd globe is when it typically happens, I wasn't being very precise with my language.

How do you define a "consecutive orb" ? If it's simply the order they hit the ground in, than it'd be pretty simple to drop all of them, and stand in the last one that lands. That would actually make killing him faster. You could force people to do damage from each one, but again a coordinated team could defeat that pretty quick.

i assume orb + gaze. the next orb wouldn't get the buff without the gaze transferring
