Challenge Mode is worth it & difficult for some LFGs. (Destiny)

I completely understand that we are the 1.7% (that's how many people on PS4 have finished King's Fall on Heroic according to trophy data). However, I am sympathetic to the view that this particular challenge wasn't exactly challenging.

Yeah, I agree, it wasn't very hard for us, we usually run it close to the challenge way, and while some of us don't love taking the aura, all of us are capable of doing it. So, yeah, I too certainly understand the view that this wasn't challenging. However, it was interesting that in the LFG I ran with later last night there was much concern over who could handle taking the aura, this was surprising to me as it's pretty easy. After trying it once or twice you should have the hang of it. Anyway, add in the fact that my 2 friends had just come from a group that couldn't handle 3 (or 4) different people taking the aura w/o dying and I'm convinced that this can be fairly challenging for much of the Destiny community, at least until more get experience with taking the aura. I think this is really a big part of what Bungie is trying to accomplish with these, challenge people to tackle different roles in the raid.

Could both camps of people have not been satisfied had there been separate challenges for normal and heroic? The normal mode challenges provide drops to help you in hard mode, and the hard mode challenge… well maybe that should be cosmetic only?

Yeah, Bungie certainly could have made the hard mode challenge different than the normal mode challenge. That could have soothed the tears of the professional streamers. It sounds like some were expecting Bungie to alter the mechanics of the fight, but Bungie didn't implement it that way, and I don't think they have the hooks in place to do that at the moment, so they're just attempting to alter the execution of the team which I think is a fair first step. But yeah, having different challenges for normal and hard would be interesting. I would like to see two or three different challenges per boss, so that perhaps next time we encounter the Warpriest challenge we find we have to take our time killing him and use each pillar for cover. It would give more longevity to the challenge modes.

As an aside, I went from 311 to 314 last night. That's the biggest jump since I started playing King's Fall.

Same, except I made some poor infusion decisions and am at 313. I should have checked to see how high my blackspindle would go before infusing it with one of the snipers I got.

edit: added bit about tackling different roles being one possible reason for Bungie's choices.
