Another Fail For Join In Progress... (Destiny)

I've been playing for five minutes in a Crucible game that's 10,000 to 2,600. We control all three zones. For the last few minutes enemy players have been joined into game, seen that they are losing by over 7,000 points, then left. For a long time all the enemy players had zero points... And yet the game would not end! We couldn't score any points because at any given time there was few to no enemies in the game!

How about a new addition to the Mercy rule. If a team controls all three zones for one minute with little to no change in score then end the game. Or maybe end it after enough people join then quickly leave. I don't know the exact criteria that would be fair but this was just kinda stupid... standing around... with nothing to kill... :/

I'm a huge defender of JIP, as you know, but yeah. That sounds like a bad time. The game should have ended. But, I mean, that's what the time limit's for, I guess. IDK about your mercy rule, but if control gets, say, 10 players over the course of the game on the losing team, it should be disconnected. That might be safer. Actually they'd both be fine, whatever.

Wait--if there were no enemies, how was the game still going? If everybody quit, then it should've ended the game regardless. That's weird.

I guess look at it on the bright side--at least you weren't the ones joining.

I usually am.

Nah. There was always someone that either just got joined or was in the process of joining so there were never actually zero players. There may have been times that there were zero enemies actually on the map though...

Completely agree with you and like the sound of the proposed tweak to the mercy rule. Earlier, I joined a game where the opposition controlled all zones and there were only 4 players on my team. There was no way we were gonna capture any of the zones so I just ended up waiting for the game to end in the interest of not quitting.
