Love the teaser, the coffee mug (I wants it!), and the logo (echos of the big D).

Also, I think it classifies more as "lounge". But your wording is more amusing. :)

Sounded more like mall muzak to me. I imagine porn music as your classic 70s, aurally-mustachioed slap bass affair, heavy on the cheese.

Heh, it's just a blank coffee mug with a few DBO stickers (from Zazzle.com) thrown on it.

and the logo

Thanks!

There isn't actually anything yet except trailer stuff and the guy (NCSUDuncan?) showing through sometimes, but... well, no adjustable resolution? That 720p+ (plus!) is a little hard on my system. Also, having to sign up with Facebook? welp, there goes any chance of me chatting on there, I'll be in IRC if you need me
edit: sorry, no, you can sign up for just a Twitch account... (the stream is still potentially iffy though)

I should say that even with a taxing stream and verbal fumbles, this is better than a podcast, IMHO

The video stream makes my computer cry falsetto *in the year 2000!*
However my 'Superphone' is running it quite well via mobile data :D What a world we live in.
I don't have a Twitch account and don't plan on creating one, but wish I could participate in the chat. It would be cool if there was a way to localize the chat here on the DBO somewhere or IRC, while still displaying the video feed.
Loving it so far, keep it up Duncan!

---Edit---
I like the free flowing unscripted nature, its fun and light natured. Like you said we are all friends. So saying next week will be "more written" isn't necessarily better. Just my opinion. It is easy to overscript or overproduce.
Better for it to feel like we are sitting around in the same room at a LAN just casually talking about Bungie; interesting stories, rumors, and future ideas, etc. (I know, tough to do when there is not much subject matter out there yet)
Rather than watching/listening to another mailsack/news feed clone.

Ooh, I like this feedback. :)

Overscripting is definitely something I'll try to avoid, I just wish I was more prepared - I spent too much time on the transition videos/general setup and not enough time into actually pulling together content. When I say "more written" I actually mean "more organized" with "more pictures" - I'll still only have a basic outline that I can talk naturally from.

Thankfully most of the foundation work is complete, so week-to-week I'll just have to collect news and drop it into my templates.

I know what you mean yeah, now that those video pieces are in place and for sure working you can focus on pulling in the topical stuff. Definitely looking forward to more.
The green screen stuff is cool, overlaying the background, videos and popping in webpages, images, skype calls, credits etc. (A/V nerd here)
I was yelling Long Night of Solace at my TV/phone

The long transitions and pauses are part of the fun - comedic timing, awkward charm. :)

Ideas for segments

by Xenos @, Shores of Time, Wednesday, August 14, 2013, 10:47 (3917 days ago) @ ncsuDuncan

I had a few ideas if you need ideas for content in the future:

* Community spotlight on things going on in the forum or activities going on in the DBO community (meet-ups, LANs, etc)
* Bungie/Destiny Trivia (I'm sure you could get help coming up with them, I'd even volunteer if you need help)
* I mentioned it in the chat, but guest interviews would be awesome. You could even just have people like MoreConsole, or Guardians of Destiny or even people from the DBO community since you won't be able to get Bungie guests often

I think you did a great job so far though, I love the more casual and more thorough approach compared to most that are only snippets (not that those are in themselves bad).

Nnot necessarily, and obviously there are going to be more new people and they're probably going to start coming in faster.

So saying next week will be "more written" isn't necessarily better. Just my opinion. It is easy to overscript or overproduce.

Indeed, but I think he was referring to stuff like "so anyway" "but anyway" "so yeah" and my favorite "um", and admittedly padding the content. Also he forgot to do something during the stream and it started late.

Better for it to feel like we are sitting around in the same room at a LAN just casually talking about Bungie; interesting stories, rumors, and future ideas, etc. (I know, tough to do when there is not much subject matter out there yet)

I would say that's what the chat is for, at least partially.
