It's honestly exactly what I don't want, and it's why I was worried about Abrams returning. He certainly makes entertaining movies, but he loves his grand puzzlebox bullshit too much. Just let Rey be an orphan that happened to be attuned to the Force, please.

Yeah I’m not thrilled but we’ll see. It could be done in a way that doesn’t completely throw out TLJ themes.

Can you imagine what IX would have been like if Trevorrow had written/directed? Yikes.

Yeah, well—it’s not like characters in this series have always told the absolute truth about parents. I say this as someone is who has consistently been against the “Force is biology” narrative.

Yeah, well—it’s not like characters in this series have always told the absolute truth about parents. I say this as someone is who has consistently been against the “Force is biology” narrative.

It's funny though! Looking at all the drafts of the script, it was painfully obvious that at the time Obi Wan was telling the truth 100%. Perhaps one of film history's most famous retcons.
