I didn't spot any unfamiliar ideas in there. Which is fine. Make me wonder something though. Is Destiny's importance not so much bringing new ideas to the table, but putting them together in such an excellent way?

I'm way more excited about the later than the former. Originality is overrated (and probably not all that possible).

I mean, how many games just look totally awesome and then their execution falls flat on its face? "Great ideas, but..."

I suspect that was never intended to be anything more than a short-term punchline until more information could be revealed. Besides, there's only so many times you can say, "SPACE MAGIC!!!" before it moves from funny to annoying. :)

The foreground area looks and feels like a transit station of some sort?
To me it feels like the building seen through the roof window is a building that we may have seen already? But now we are seeing it from a different angle -- underneath? I can't identify exactly which building...can't put my finger on it.

I'd have to go with this image here. Both the area the titan is in and the image of that area feel soo much like they have the same atmosphere about them. That dark, forgotten city feel. Also, looking closer at that titan image, you can see his feet are slightly submerged in water, not a large amount of water, but something similar to the image above.
