Mapping the Hive entrance *SP?*

I got a mission in Old Russian to map the Hive entrance, and the entrance wasn't one of the big green ones you usually see, and going into it felt like entering a long tunnel through a green wasp nest (the mission was complete before I got to the end of it--it was strictly a scouting mission, which is cool!).

At the end of the tunnel was a large dark area filled with what seemed to be infinite health hive enemies. I don't think this is something we're supposed to get past, and I really doubt we can run past it, but maybe if you can get a sparrow down there you can get pretty far. I'd like to see a clip of someone try that. I can't explain where it is (as Stephen Laughlin can tell you, I've got a lousy sense of direction in Old Russia). Upon reflection, I think the little jumps they put indoors is one way of not allowing the sparrow into the "dungeons."

Putting in unbeatable enemies might be Bungie's way of blocking off unfinished content or content we're not supposed to see. I'm curious.

Yeah, that's it. You can reach this area from the end of the Forgotten Shore, or from the other side. You've been there before, Kerm. This is the place we reached after killing the Devil Walker in explore mode the other day. We made a mad dash through the cave, came out the other side to the coast, and found that dead ghost down by the water before I had to leave for work. :)

I went back a few times after reaching level 8 to spend some time scouting around the inside of the cave for any dead ghosts we might've missed. Didn't find anything, but there's a BIG ol' scary lookin' Hive Ogre hanging out in one of the hallways. Very cool.

Hmm. I missed that spot. (A bit farther down is where I got hit by the Architect.) That said - is that where the Ogre can be found too?

This tunnel seemed much narrower than the one shown in Korny's vid. The final area seemed much darker, too. I could be wrong.

I started the video near the end of the tunnel, but it's the same one, I'm sure. That's the only one you're told to map. Also, I turned the brightness way up, since my capture card darkens the videos...
