Working in finance, it's not often that my professional interests and my personal interests collide. Today, thanks to The Motley Fool they did. I think it also gives great context on the business expectation of Destiny for Activision.

PC release in March 2015?

by RC ⌂, UK, Tuesday, July 29, 2014, 15:39 (3561 days ago) @ rliebherr

Activision will release Destiny across four platforms -- the PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One, followed by a PC release in March 2015 -- which means major fragmentation even if 15 million to 20 million copies are sold.

What!? Does Leo Sun know something we don't?

EDIT: Or - considering he spouts that same 'spend $500 million' with no clarification that that's for multiple games - is he just smoking some special brand?

It seems to be designed to easily port to a PC with the curser instead of selecting menu items, like most console games. I actually didn't see that line when I read this article earlier today...

The only thing that surprises me about this is that it's as soon as March next year. Good news though, I think!

'$500 million' is a bit off

The $500 million mark is somewhat misleading, because while that's assumed to be total cost from start to finish, the leaked contract between Bungie and Activision gives us a figure closer to $140 million for development, with the rest for earmarked for marketing, distribution, things of that nature.

Where did the March 2015 come from? Is it official, or did the author see it on some retailer website?

Nvm, seems like he took it from the Steam listing. So, not official.
