It's not an MMO. Full stop. It's an action game that borrows elements like loot drops, raiding and grinding from the MMO genre albeit slightly tweaked. They have been saying this since the beginning and it's still true, so no bait-and-switch has occurred. You can now take this off your list of concerns about the Destiny community.
