It would just add diversity. as it stands now the only variant in the "best" gear is your exotic pieces. Other than that its just the raid gear. Pretty bland. Dont get me wrong i still enjoy the game, would just be nice to have CUSTOMIZATION. Not just shaders that change everything you have on.
