That's fine, but there's often a legitimate need to speak with someone to make arrangements or figure out whether you both want to play something. Even more so when there's multiple people involved and text messaging becomes awkward and hard to follow.

Yeah, that's one of the specific scenarios where it's okay. What I really don't like is when people I don't know crash a party just to chit-chat with the people they do know or they keep talking about a game that I'm not in.
