I'm pretty sure the incorrectness is not the stuff that made people mad, but how those people were treated (the Whaaaaambulance itself). It's pretty disrespectful.

What difference does it make what *I* say? This isn't about me - I was just explaining a bit of MacGyver's post that you seemed to have misunderstood. I wasn't puttiing my own judgements in at all.

Well that was the point, I was trying to understand, what he said and what you said.

(That said, I think cheapLEY's right - for the most part, 'politically incorrect' and 'disrespectful' are pretty interchangeable, at least for common internet usage.)

I wouldn't go quite that far, especially not applied to someplace as decent as b.org. People seem to have forgotten what it means (or never learned) but I think most of them are just... misguided? That sounds a bit pretentious... bah.

Huh. But we're not really talking about b.org. The question was, could Bungie reintroduce the Whaaaambulance without running afoul of folks who would take it as an insult just for being used. (Everyone would probably agree that it's disrespectful towards the people who are highlighted. The question you asked was, is the offense that the public takes due to political correctness, or is there some other reason for the offense? Is 'being disrespectful' enough of a crime that folks who don't care about 'political correctness' will still get annoyed by it? That's the question you're asking, right?)

I'd say that it doesn't really matter; making fun of people for whining about some perceived slight in the game will either be seen as funny or offensive, and folks who are 'proper' (in the sense that they're offended simply because it's not polite to be rude) will be seen as in the same camp as folks who are 'politically correct' (in the sense that they're offended because the ridicule undermines some basic dignity the original fan had).
