PS4 Hard drive replacement (Gaming)

I did not know this, but 7200RPM drives are not officially supported (because of increased power draw I am guessing). Mine has been working fine so far and the consensus is that you'll be okay. Load times are noticeably better!


Really? I'm impressed by this. I thought the load times were more cpu bound than io (for some reason, I don't know why, it's counter intuitive, I know). I'd love to be able to improve my loadtimes with a HDD upgrade. Do you have any #'s on load time improvements?


I wonder what would happen if you tried to put an SSD in there?


SSD doesn't really improve things as much as Hybrid drives do, and they are the best option, since they have far more space for much less price.

I don't know... SSD prices are getting pretty good
