Didn't work so well for me... (Destiny)
I just ran the first new mission and the new POE, equipped to my highest LL (306) and of about 15 engrams they were all under 306 - except for one machine gun that decoded at 307. They ranged from the 270's to 290s mostly.
The POE did drop a 313 Ghost though.
