I guess.
But that close, I think at least the spread could've taken off something....
As someone who's been killed from two or three planets over by a Secret Handshake(ok fine, not really, but still) the spread on a shotgun can still be pretty devastating even when not completely centered on a target.
They may have been looking straight at you on their screens. That's usually what aim is based on these days.
