I guess.
But that close, I think at least the spread could've taken off something....
As someone who's been killed from two or three planets over by a Secret Handshake(ok fine, not really, but still) the spread on a shotgun can still be pretty devastating even when not completely centered on a target.
I agree he should have taken a little bit of damage cause it doesn't look like all the pellets missed. But it could also be the case of a little bit of lag as well.
