SRL, I'm sure it will return, but why so long? (Destiny)

I wonder if Bungie is thinking of it as a twice a year event, if they're thinking of it as a yearly event then that's not nearly frequently enough. I suspect they're waiting until they have new maps and/or rewards for us? How long does it take to craft new rewards? How long does it take to craft a new map? I suspect it's a pretty serious investment to make a new map.

I really think it's based on new maps. They don't feel like just redoing the event with the same maps at this point is worth it. And they are probably way to swamped with Destiny 2 to create new maps. It will be coming back, but they will most likely need to free up some resources first.
