Planetary chest lockout is intentional. No in game indicator or debuff. No mention if it is supposed to affect planetary materials. Should just despawn them from my ability to see then if I can't open them for rewards.

intentional, but so damn annoying and stupid of them to do. They have ghosts that point out chests and mats. Cayde sells scout reports that show you where they are. Why have these available at all, if you get locked out after picking up 5 of them too fast?

"We are aware of MIDA Multi-Tool’s popularity and are looking at it very closely. It is popular, but according to our data, there are options out there that match or exceed its effectiveness in all activities. Have you found one?
It’s only the first month of a long adventure. Many players are still gathering weapons for their arsenal and we have a handful of guns that haven’t even hit the game yet. We’re excited to see how things evolve. As always, thanks for playing, and keep the feedback rolling in."
They are saying there are guns that are more effective than MIDA, and then hint that one reason you might not have them is because they aren't in game yet??
Anyone else feel like that's odd?

Yes of course! I am looking forward to that. I was saying that it sounded like they were saying "There are weapons that can counter MIDA, We just haven't put them in the game yet".
Its dumb I know but its just a bad counter to the issue.

I think they were saying "There are weapons that can counter MIDA, which we can tell, looking at the data. Things are early, so keep in mind the meta is still shaping up. And there are even a few options not in your hands yet! Isn't that exciting?"; in any case reading the bit about guns in the game being the solutions (as in, all of them or most of them) to MIDA is a misreading-
"It is popular, but according to our data, there are options out there that match or exceed its effectiveness in all activities. Have you found one?" (Emphasis mine.)
With said data being "our first real batch of player data from our analytics team. We’ve also been shoulder-to-shoulder with you in the trenches daily", and thus data from the actual game- which clearly can't include guns not yet released.

No. Context is important.
Very recently, we received our first real batch of player data from our analytics team.
We are aware of MIDA Multi-Tool’s popularity and are looking at it very closely. It is popular, but according to our data, there are options out there that match or exceed its effectiveness in all activities. Have you found one?
This is very similar to what they said about the MIDA Multi-Tool in D1:
Ignoring popularity, we think MIDA is fairly balanced in the global scale of weapons but I'm sure many non-MIDA users are starting to get tired of seeing that name come up in their death screen.
The message here is that yes MIDA is a good option, but there are already guns out there that are better according to their first wave of data. And, more guns and balance updates will help make that even more clear over time.
Anecdotally, the MIDA Muilti-Tool is a good gun, but I can go toe to toe and beat it with a couple of my different load outs. For instance, I straight up took on a Fireteam of MIDA users the other day with my New Monarchy Song of Justice VI and in one on one shootouts won a lot more than I lost. The twist a former Bungie quote, “MIDA Multi-Tool users are tough, but they’re not invincible.”
And yeah, I don’t make claims without something to back me up. I took a video of me doing it:
http://xboxdvr.com/gamer/Ragashingo/video/37170760
Note my first encounter with the MIDA Multi-Tool user down the curving street? He had a good line of sight and was making good use of cover but I played it smart and got him. My Fireteam helped me with the next few guys but I was on my game and getting a lot of headshots. Note a bit later the Warlock that jumps up on the overhang who gets a good two shot head start on me but who I manage to trade kills with. Then a bit later fighting back up towards B I get a good couple of kills vs MIDA users.

The biggest issue with MIDA is Third Eye. Does any other gun have it? I haven't seen one yet. And Third Eye is incredibly beneficial.

Indeed it is. I based my D1 Crucible career on guns with Third Eye. I don’t believe there are other guns with Third Eye as of yet. There is the Knucklehead Radar but that’s about it...

Vanilla Vanguard vendor stock Doctor Nope, at that.
Third Eye, 72 bullets, 900 RPM, actually pretty decent range-
It's one of those old Destiny guns that would be absolutely ridiculous in the new game, I suppose.

Right? I used it for as long as I could get away with.
Honestly, I'm kind of really missing it.
Scathelock is by no means bad, but I think I could do with a 720 RPM thing for the kinetic slot- but it doesn't seem like there. Are any? Maybe I should try to give Submachine guns another shot...

As a non-PvP player, this is very encouraging. I don't want the multi-tool getting nerfed. :)
My feeling on it is that the gun is just so fast and easy to use that it FEELS good, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's actually more potent than other options.
Keyword: Feels. FEELS great, weak on punch to me.

I took it to mean that the community hadn't realized which guns were better yet.

The FWC Scout seems to work well vs. MIDAs at range. Been playing with the NM one but not seeing as big a difference.
3rd eye is useful for the groups that have a 3:1 setup, where the 1 is a fast hunter that comes around behind the other team while the 3 hold them in place on a corner.
Generally the high impact scouts seem a little too slow for the closer in work. Similar to HCs being a bit too slow vs. Sidearms/Submachine guns close in, but lose out at long range to scout/pulses.

I mostly just had to comment on this because funny enough it IS MIDA without third eye. It's lightweight (meaning you move faster while holding it) and has high caliber rounds, and if you equip the long range scope its stats are identical to MIDA. Such a good gun. That and True Prophecy alone would justify joining FWC.

FWC supporters keep making that claim but I have yet to see any proof! With New Monarchy, our claim is simple to verify: We want a strong leader who will help ensure the rights and safety of all our citizens.

You have the best shader, so my Warlock will blindly follow you, I guess, but my FWC Hunter is ready to put you all down when the day comes.

When I was in college, part of the Psych 10 class made it mandatory to participate in 2 psychological studies. Carrie Strug (yes, that one) was my lab partner! Hilarious! Actually one of the studies involved watching episodes of the Simpsons, so it was, literally, hilarious.

I haven’t gotten the Raid HC unfortunately (some people are even saying it’s not supposed to be dropping yet). True Prophecy is a heavier hand cannon than I usually like, but the explosions make it really fun and effective at a longer range than any other hand cannon I’ve used. The only real downside I have with it is the incredibly slow reload speed, but Marksman’s Dodge makes up for that when I’m in a pinch.
