It doesn’t claim to be a videogame so I’m not sure why people are comparing it to games. Of course there are limitations to what you can do—a traditional show is entirely limited if judged by the same criteria.

No one else is making this kind of stuff. It’s something that can’t be made on traditional television. More power to Netflix for trying it.

FMV choose-your-own-adventure games have been a thing for ages now. Maybe they should've done some better research?

I agree that the fact that they're trying is great enough as it is, but I feel like this is the sort of thing that needs to blow people away on the first try to gain traction (see ancient VR vs current VR). Hopefully, the hype for it pads the numbers enough to justify to the producers an amazing second try.
