That is honestly really debatable. It’s almost exactly a FMV game. This is basically what those were. If they didn’t look at those or have those in mind when they made this, they didn’t take advantage of past lessons and missed an opportunity to make something actually good.

I’m inclined to think this style of thing just doesn’t work based on structure. It results in a messy experience with little chorence, false paths, and disappointing narrative conclusions. It’s trying to make multiple (and mostly bad) stories crammed into one thing. There’s an potentially interesting narrative in this thing, but that had to write a bunch of bullshit to fill out the gimmick.

Again, I’m not knocking anyone who likes it. I’m glad it works for some people. I just don’t get why—it’s theorotically interesting, but executed terribly.
