The Last Days of "Go Fast" (Destiny)
Lookn' at the calendar, and we're gett'n pretty close to what, at least on paper, seems to be a whole new variant of Destiny. This next coming reset is our LAST WEEK of "GO Fast" before things get all sorts of retool'd.
So... I'm wonderin' what ya'll doin' for it? Geting ready and whatnot. I know that once this October reset hits, it's off to the races. What are you saving and what you sharding? I myself, now that I've played Control as far as it currently goes, need to see about checking I have one of each mod, Complete Heroic Outbreak Perfected, and I have yet to get Truth but I figure it makes more sense to wait at this point. There's possibly some other stuff I could or should do, but... that's why I made this thread, get it?
If you're doing anything in preparation, what are you doing?! :D
Anything we SHOULD do to prepare?
I seem to remember there was something about dismantling certain gear. Don't remember which. Was it all cosmetic gear for bright dust or something?
Anything we SHOULD do to prepare?
Dismantle anything that dismantles into bright dust, unless you have a really nice roll on some armor or a sparrow.
Quick way to check for what converts to bright dust
Dismantle anything that dismantles into bright dust, unless you have a really nice roll on some armor or a sparrow.
In Destiny Item Manager search: "Source:Eververse" (it should pop up with an autocomplete). All of that stuff you can safely dismantle and then buy it with glimmer and I think legendary shards(?) after Shadowkeep comes out. Just be aware it'll most likely have a random roll on it, so if you have a quick spawn sparrow you'll have to roll to get another quick spawn version.
Anything we SHOULD do to prepare?
Someone put together this spreadsheet based off the armor 2.0 stream. It shows what perks are slotted in each armor piece. I'm collecting armor that has perks that are slotted in different spots as armor 2.0, such as reserves in helmets and scavenger in arms. I'm not sure if they will stack with 2.0 perks, but I'm saving them just in case.
Thx!

Pretty sure you can't regrab Armor

Pretty sure you can't regrab Armor
All Eververse armor will be available as an ornament to any other armor set.

Try to get some god-rolls. Next week it will drop 5 guns per run.

It’s already dropping five per run. That’s with a Masterworked Chalice—not sure if that matters.

Oh that right, did they say we just had to have it in the Collections though?

Yep: Straight From Bungie

4 of your drops will be Powerful. One is a bonus at 730-whatever.

..which, in a little less than 8 days, will be bumped up to 750, without any effort on your part.

... he says as if he didn’t just blow a bunch of materials on infusing gear last week, until the rest of the party asked him if he’s crazy ;p <3
Try the Shadowkeep checklist/tracker
Who better than a recent convert? :)

Try the Shadowkeep checklist/tracker
The use of "minimum" on these bars gives me great anxiety.
Try the Shadowkeep checklist/tracker
That seems like a really stupid waste of a website.
They could have just put “have a lot of every currency” in big text and called it a day.
Well, I have Baryon Boughs covered
And a depressing amount of everything else.

Anyone else still have tokens from Year 1?

Not after Shadowkeep launches ...

Does that mean they're being deleted?
Should I use them all up this week? I guess I could turn them into shards and glimmer... that would be better than letting them simply disappear.
Does that mean they're being deleted?
I suspect he means that turning them in for Armor 2.0 drops after the update will make them disappear. I really doubt they are being deleted.
Destiny will be, like, literally unplayable! (30th of Sept.)
In preparation for the launch of Destiny 2: Shadowkeep, Destiny 1 and Destiny 2 will be taken offline for maintenance on Monday, 9/30.

This maintenance will last for approximately 24 hours, and will end with the launch of Shadowkeep on 10/1.
Think you have 6 days to play? Wrong, you have 5.

Sorry for the confusion. Squid's right - I just meant that I'm going to turn them all in for new armor.

When we see people shambling down the sidewalk like zombies Monday afternoon, squinting at the sun and walking into telephone poles because their depth-of-field perception is off, we'll know why.

The Last Days of "Go Fast"
I prepared for Shadowkeep by listening to the entire Destiny soundtrack chronologically.
I also finished Prey. Anyone else really enjoy that game? It wasn’t Deus Ex, but it did a lot of things right in my opinion.
With that done, I’m really to jump back into Destiny after not playing most of the summer.
The Last Days of "Go Fast"
I wanted to like Prey really bad. I couldn’t get over the controls. Just doesn’t feel right. They feel sluggish compared to the enemies you’re supposed to fight.
I love the setting and atmosphere though.
