I also remember buying FWC armor and not being able to upgrade it, since it required ascendent motes. Which were literally not in the game lol.
I remember upgrading the final slot on my Knucklehead Radar Exotic helmet which required an exotic shard. My only exotic shard, that I had painstakingly scraped together and spent a lot of time deciding what to do with. The next day Bungie changed it so you didn't need exotic shards to upgrade exotic armor and didn't refund it.
