Accounts are for tracking digital game purchases, and trophies right? I could very easily live without either.

Also needed for trust and safety enforcement. No accountability if there is no identity permanence and it is not connected to anything personal.

Why do we need this for offline splitscreen? Accountability is me looking at you and saying knock it off.

We live in a time where you have to create an account for a new toilet.

Every game (console) requires an account. Even Switch. Don't get me started on trying to sync multiple controllers to a Switch. I'll create 100 accounts before having to deal with that nightmare.

You're choosing to stubbornly deprive yourself of fun over something that is now just a way of the world.
