Yet another reason to hate cutscenes (Destiny)
I tried to use a Heavy while in the initial cutscene for Venus (I think it was for a Daily? or maybe I was just on a new character) and the game gladly ate my synth without giving me the goods, plus started the cooldown.
I wonder if everyone at Bungie playtested the game without cutscenes up until the public Alpha/etc? Surely someone thought "well this not being able to skip cutscenes is all sorts of annoying", especially when they internally had to keep creating new Guardians for new stages of development.
Hopefully it's obvious I'm not talking about the in-orbit scenes (where NPC X sometimes gives a mission brief if you're playing non-Patrol), which are more of a loading screen than a cutscene.
If there's some sort of technical reason for it, it'd be nice to know why. However, I do believe the old Halo games allowed the party leader to initiate cutscene skips for the team, so I'd like to think any reason would not be related to who has the authority to skip or whatnot.
