Thralls: humans incapable of harnessing the Light? (Destiny)
IIRC, the Speaker or Ghost basically says that 'not everyone can harness the Light' during the initial part of the game. So maybe Thralls are everyone else?
Or a more insidious possibility: the corpses of gaurdians that have been drained of their light (via Crota's sword)?
