No luck last night (Destiny)

Tried to do just the Gatekeeper with randoms from DestinyTracker LFG chat...MISTAKE.

Four 30's and two max-weapon-29's couldn't coordinate enough to get past the two gates. UGH.

Since I played and didn't complete, does that mean I have the Hard Gatekeeper checkpoint, or do you have to be the Fireteam leader to "keep" the progress checkpoint?

Anyone free to help tonight?
