Destiny is set in present day! (Destiny)

If you look at the Grimoire card for Jupiter, the great Red Spot is visible. This is expected to disappear by 2030. This means that Destiny does not in fact take place in the future.

Let the speculation begin.

I speculate that it is a different spot than the current Great Red Spot. This spot, "The Son of The Great Red Spot", was whipped into shape by Jupiter's extreme winds some six hundred years after the demise of it's father spot. This is supported by the idea that "human lifespans tripled" (how would you know unless you measured over ~200 to 300 years?) and that your Ghost mentions that The City took "centuries" to build when you first get to The Tower.

Therefore, Destiny is, in fact, in the future. :p
