At least then you could work at your own pace towards a goal.

Maybe every week one of them is randomly put at a discount comparable to what we're charged now.

That would be heartbreaking if you are a casual player who saves up, and then buys one that sucks or isn't right for you after all.

If you're a casual player, you won't be able to afford them at those prices. It'll be better to wait until they're on sale.
