I suggest you read this (Destiny)

Maybe it's my time away from the game, but this is absurd to me. It's the same old stuff, just a little different/better/worse.

I think the key is whether or not you enjoyed the base Destiny experience. For those of us that did, TTK is absolutely amazing. For those that didn't, it does fix/change some things, but it's still Destiny, and if you didn't truly enjoy it, this probably won't change your mind.
